Welcome
to HQRL
HQRL
is a nonprofit genealogy library, managed and staffed entirely by
volunteers. HQRL's collection includes books, microfiche, and microfilm,
with an emphasis on census films. We have one of the largest microfilm
collections in the Pacific Northwest. HQRL also houses a bookstore
where you can purchase genealogy books, forms, and supplies.
How
HQRL Originated
HQRL
sprang from the roots of the private collection started by Leland
and Steven Meitzler in Orting, WA in 1982. In 1993 this collection
was purchased by AGLL along with Heritage Quest magazine.
In 1996 the library became a nonprofit, independent, member-owned
research facility. Although we continue to share the name, we are
not associated with Heritage Quest based in Utah.
